Practice
2408 is an international studio for progressive architecture, urbanism and design. It was founded in 2018 by Bennet Marburger and Dr. ZHANG Ji. Since then, 2408 has won several international prizes and awards.
At 2408 we’re convinced that excellent design is about people and can have a large impact on improving the quality of everybody’s life. Our designs are characterized by a throughout holistic and deeply humanistic approach. We take strong influence from European philosophy but also from confucian thought and far-eastern wisdom. With each project we try to improve the status-quo and create a more livable place for everybody.
It’s our conviction that challenges require unconventional approaches and that constraints allow innovation. This helps us to push boundaries and constantly evolve our work and design. One of the biggest challenges of our time is the protection of the environment. We are convinced that transformation and the reuse of existing resources are the best answers in order to create useful and long-lasting structures.
Our projects aim to connect urban spaces, architecture and interior design and strive for pragmatic and beautiful solutions. We create elegant, atmospheric environments for everyday life that are at the same time functional and poetic.
We believe that architecture is the result of an open and iterative methodology. Together with our team and selected specialists we work in a trans-disciplinary process to ensure the best possible outcome for any project.
